In 2003, he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Guthrie Clinic/Robert Parker Hospital, Sayre, Pennsylvania. In 2007, he completed his fellowship training in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition at the Virginia Commonwealth University and Medical
College of Virginia Health System. Dr. Choudhury has received numerous honors and awards including the Stanley Conklin award for original publication during residency (2003), the Gold Medal in Internal Medicine from the Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India, and was elected by Consumer Research Council of America as Top Gastroenterologist for therapeutic endoscopy (2012). Dr. Choudhury is responsible for conceptualization and setting up the state-of-the-art therapeutic endoscopy suite at Community Regional Medical Center of Fresno and is one of the core members responsible for setting up the gastroenterology fellowship. He is also responsible for starting the first endoscopic ultrasound and advanced pancreato-biliary therapeutic endoscopy program in Fresno.
He is a member of the AGA, ACG, ASGE and ASBE. His special areas of interest include pancreato-biliary therapeutic endoscopy, endoscopic ultrasound with FNA, gastrointestinal oncology, endomucosal resection and palliative endoscopy, besides general gastroenterology.
